How is this different from VLOOKUP?
Exact lookups need identical keys. TypoMatch looks for similar text, so it can suggest matches when names have typos, word order differs, or company suffixes vary. You review a similarity score before writing.
Will it change my original spreadsheet data?
Every run starts with a preview. Outputs go to a new sheet or new columns; duplicate export and highlighting use a copy. The sidebar can undo its last output. Review the destination before confirming a write.
Does my spreadsheet data leave Google?
No spreadsheet contents are sent to our service. Matching happens inside Google Apps Script. Licence verification sends your licence key. If you opt in to anonymous usage counts, the service receives only an event type and a coarse row-count bucket, never cell contents. See the Privacy Policy for details.
What counts toward the free limit?
Free runs accept up to 1,000 input rows in total. Matching two lists counts the rows across both lists; duplicate detection counts the rows in that list. Header rows you exclude from the selected ranges do not count. Pro supports up to 100,000 rows per list.
Does a high score mean the match is correct?
A similarity score measures how alike the selected text is. It does not establish that two people, companies, or records are the same. Always review important matches; stricter thresholds generally reduce the number of suggestions.
Can I leave a large job running?
Leave your spreadsheet and sidebar open while a job runs. Work continues in small chunks, with progress and a cancel control. If the sidebar closes, return to the sheet to resume the saved job. Google service limits and your data affect runtime.
How do licences, cancellation, and refunds work?
Pro is $5.00/month or $39/year in USD, plus applicable tax. After purchase, retrieve your licence key and activate it in the sidebar. Link sends the payment receipt and handles billing support; manage renewal at Link. TypoMatch offers a refund of the latest payment within 14 days, with cancellation. Link’s broader refund policy and statutory rights also apply. A refund requested through Link does not automatically cancel renewal; check both. Bank posting times vary.
